I built Doodles because I felt like the small, silly, everyday moments with the people I care about were getting lost.
We all message each other constantly, but nothing really felt playful anymore — everything was text, notifications, or another app to check.
So I wondered: what if the lock screen—something we look at 100+ times a day—could become a tiny shared canvas?
A place where you can send a doodle, write a note, drop a heart, or just brighten someone’s day without opening anything.
Originally it started as a simple idea for couples, but while building it I realized people were using it in totally different ways — parents drawing for their kids, friends sending inside jokes, long-distance siblings staying connected. That made me reshape the app to be more personal, fast, and frictionless.
The process kept evolving based on real reactions. Many users said they wanted a free tier, so I added one. Some wanted it to feel more “alive,” so I kept experimenting with smoother drawing, faster sync, and a more playful UI.
I’m still learning and improving daily, but the goal stays the same:
turn the lock screen into the happiest place on your phone.
Would love to hear how you would use it or what tiny feature could make it even more fun! 💛
