Write stories together, one line at a time. AI creates images or video clips of any part of the story with ease, no prompting needed. Four collaboration modes - First Come First Served, Voting, Queue, and Race - let you set the rules. Stories can branch into parallel paths when writers disagree on what happens next. Create groups, launch challenges, and summon AI characters with memory who join your stories as co-writers. There's a lot to discover - I'm looking forward to reading your words!

I'm a hobby writer. Even a published one. I have tried multiple groups online and offline for collaborative writing and I'll say, this a great tool for Writing together with others. It's easy, fast paced and uses AI in a way to keep the stories alive. It's the right thing for keeping the fun and writing and pushing yourself to learn new perspectives
@ludwig_do thank you for the nice comment 😊
This is a fun idea. Congratulations on your launch!
One suggestion: why not let artists get in on the fun? Does it have to be AI generated? I'd be great if different artist could take a frame take a scene and replace the AI images with their own. Perhaps stories that have no AI involvement could be an option too.
@anders_wotzke hi! yes, you make a very good point there!
Every story can be setup to have no AI involvement in the storyline at all - it's up to the creators!
As for the media -> yes, I agree this would be really cool! And the logic for manual uploads is in place (for cover images that's how it started actually) 😊
Currently, it's a bit of a chicken/egg problem where without stories, there's not much to see, and without users there's not much reason to be over there. But I'll get there eventually :)
@anders_wotzke @flipacem How do you scope a Fable Writer's memory when a story branches in the tree view, shared across the whole story or forked per branch? In fabletide, that's the choice that decides whether relationships feel earned or drift into plot bleed. The human-only toggle is a great escape hatch, a per-branch label plus an exportable final draft would make sharing feel clean.
@anders_wotzke @piroune_balachandran That's a good point!
When you branch a story, the persona will no longer use story memory. It still gets injected its platform memory which can influence how it will continue on branches written by other users/fable writers depending on their relationship. I honestly did not want to open the box of pandora with keeping a memory tree for the branching :D It will only kick in for single branch stories.
Important to note: when they contribute, they currently get all of the existing content of the "target" branch. Stories so far are a long way from hitting any context limitations, so this works fine and i don't have to compact anything there yet.
As for the per-branch label: If you mean something like assigning a "They opened the door" vs "They turned around" label to make it easier to distinguish between branches -> that's a great idea I will add. Currently it is a bit hard to navigate longer trees and this could help big time.
Love the idea! It feel exactly like the chaotic staging ground where dungeon crawler carl could have been born at 😅
@lechnerio haha oh yes 😂 a lot of storylines in these books feel so random 😂
