Hi I'm Matt, The creator of FantaZscores.com, a tool to optimize your fantasy basketball team. I started it because I was frustrated that there are many fantasy sports projections that aren't statistically sound. FantaZscores uses z-scores to ensure rankings are mathematically precise. It integrates with Yahoo to import all teams in your league so you can view performance in each category live while you draft. How does this help? - Visibility into which cats you've over-indexed - Visibility into which cats you're lacking (and should consider punting) This means you can adapt during your draft according to your team's strengths and weaknesses. The interactive rankings will update live according to your punts. FantaZscores also let's you schedule waiver pickups in advance - no more waking up early to get your guy. @dan_tegzes Hey Dan, Thank you for the kind comment and question! Maybe not the most exciting answer but the backend logic for calculating and serving z-scores I found hard to manage. There are so many edge cases for calculations that you don’t think of until it’s deployed. I.e. handling custom user uploaded projections, or handling volume based categories like free throw % or field goal % where z-scores need to account for the number of shots taken. Oh also, making fantasy basketball projections is surprisingly hard. Over a 40 hour work week of just staring at excel manually inputting numbers is surprisingly painful. If your friends do check it out, would love to hear their thoughts on it!
