Have you ever wondered how to stop trading time for money and use your days for whatever you want? Financial Freedom Mentor app helps you accelerate your journey to financial independence. You can track the metrics that really move the needle: like expense coverage, or run rate. See how changes in your spending, debt, passive income, or savings rate shift your freedom date. Whenever you’re in doubt, you can ask the built-in Money Mentor, a bespoke AI chatbot optimized for financial freedom.
I originally planned to publish the Financial Freedom Mentor today.
But as I sat down this morning getting ready and fired up to launch, I realized something: Easter weekend is one of those rare moments for reflection and renewal. Many of us use it to step back from the noise to focus on what actually matters: our families and friends, some may go on a trip, disconnect, reconnect and ponder about goals and the future.
I have been researching and writing a lot about minimalism, being time-rich, and living life intentionally on my blog The Rich Minimalist.
Then I built an app, that started as my private tool to track net worth, cut expenses, and accelerate my own financial freedom journey. Now, I decided to extend and polish this app to help others, too:

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm the maker of Financial Freedom Mentor app, and I'm so excited to share this with you.
For years, I've been writing about financial freedom and intentional living, eg, on my Substack, "The Rich Minimalist." But I realized that while the philosophy is powerful, the practical tools are often clunky, expensive, or just plain overwhelming. I wanted to build something different.
What started as an app that I purely developed for myself to calculate and manage the key metrics on my journey to financial freedom, is what I am making now available to all of you in a polished version.
I found it super useful. It increased transparency, and improved my decision making and discipline.
The Problem:
Most of us are flying blind. We try to earn more, we save, we invest, maybe we chase freedom. But if the goal is not clear and the path is not clear, we won't reach it.
The Solution:
Financial Freedom Mentor is a simple, beautiful, and powerful app that gives you that clarity and guidance. You get the following main benefits:
See your exact freedom number and date - no more guessing.
Minimalist money dashboard focused on what actually moves you to financial freedom.
Turn Financial Independence theory into daily habits that compound over years.
Track and improve all the key metrics.
But it's much more than just a calculator. It's a mentor. The app provides tips and "Money Micro Lessons" to help you build better financial habits and become "time-rich" - the ultimate form of wealth. Whenever you’re in doubt, you can ask the built-in Money Mentor, a bespoke AI chatbot optimized for financial freedom.

Manfred

How are you ensuring the advice from the AI stays realistic and responsible, especially for users making real financial decisions?
This is a great question. My chatbot is focusing more on the general idea of minimalism and intentional living, where financial decisions are only part of it. The chatbot is primed to use primarily my own documents mainly related to The Rich Minimalist. At the end of the day, it is in the user's own responsibility to choose right for their goals and context. It's the same when someone does a Google search and gets various options (some good, some bad).
Kind regards,
Manfred

@the_rich_minimalist Makes sense, keeping it grounded in principles rather than specific decisions is a good approach, how are users reacting to that so far?

@becky_gaskell Exactly, that is the idea. Overall response so far is very good. I haven't received feedback specifically about the chatbot-based Money Mentor. I guess this will come with time.

@the_rich_minimalist That’s a good sign early on. Are you planning to keep it more principle-led, or introduce more structured guidance over time as you get feedback?

Financial Freedom Mentor: The app I originally built for myself when I realized "someday I will be financially free" wasn't cutting it anymore.
I was tired of vague financial dreams and cluttered spreadsheets. I wanted something that felt like me: minimalist, focused, and actually moving the needle toward freedom. So I created this.
Here's what it does for you:
The metrics that actually matter. I stripped away the noise: expense coverage, net worth, debt, expenses, passive income.
Your freedom number and date, crystal clear. That moment when you finally see a clear date and a clear path. Game changer. No more guessing when freedom arrives.
A dashboard that feels like breathing room. Clean. Simple. No overwhelm. Just the clarity you need to actually make decisions.
FIRE theory → real daily habits. Small steps that stick. Because financial freedom isn't a sprint, it's a rhythm you build.
Micro lessons that actually teach. One idea at a time, when you need it. No 40-hour courses, just practical wisdom.
Money Mentor: your AI companion. That voice in your head asking "what next?" Our chatbot gives fresh ideas.
This is personal for me. It's the tool that keeps me honest on my own journey. Now I want it to help you on yours.

Financial freedom isn't just about numbers. It’s about having the time and peace of mind to enjoy these exact moments.
So, I decided to not interfere with this and wait until Monday morning. This should give everyone the space to hit the "reset" button.
On Monday, we'll start over with a New Leaf mindset.
If you are here reading this despite the Easter weekend, I’d love to hear: What is one freedom goal you’re focusing on in 2026?
