The nixpkgs repository alone has contributions from over 6,000 individuals, making the concept of having over 100,000 packages a reality. Nix is meant to always be open to a wide variety of use cases, needs, and very much green field, covering use cases from making builds reproducible to running in space. Flox provides a product that brings out parts of the most meaningful Nix based principles to any developer and enterprise. Providing a golden motion that is simple yet powerful and focusing on enterprise needs in the process. When we first started we had a moto of "Bringing Nix to Work". @raman_raghav Flox is deterministic by construction. Keeping exact locked references of software that's running. As we enhance Flox in the future, we plan to leverage that deterministic behavior in a database against known vulnerabilities and help security teams manage their environments and make sure they are up to date. You can also run Flox "unlocked" and when you do this, you roll to the latest versions of software daily and get immediate feedback when something goes wrong.

@memphys_sk Thank you! Flox aims to provide the same consistent development experience in both Continuous Integration and local development. Today you can use Flox in CI and get the same environment you do locally. It's also possible to use Continuous Deployment on those environments for interpreted languages. We'll be working on ways to make this even easier and support CD for compiled languages in the future.
