Gensee Crate is a completely free, cloud-hosted OpenClaw service. Get your personal OpenClaw running in minutes — no hardware, no API bills, no risk to your files. What you get: No API keys needed; No credit card required; From signup to fully capable agent in a few minutes; Sandboxed, isolated OpenClaw instances private to you, running 24/7 in the cloud; Spawn, snapshot, and rollback instances at anytime. Built by UCSD prof and ex-googler AI agent infra experts.

One thing that really pushed us to build Crate was watching how much effort people are willing to spend just to try OpenClaw.
I’ve joined a few OpenClaw meetups recently, and the enthusiasm is amazing. People spend hours figuring out shell commands to install it on an old spare machine. I’ve also heard questions like “what’s an API key?” — but even that doesn’t stop people from pushing through the setup.
When people are willing to go through all that friction, it’s a pretty strong signal that the technology itself is genuinely useful. Turning tedious multi-hour work into a single message is a big deal.
But at the same time it also made us think: maybe it shouldn’t be this hard to try.
Ideally you shouldn’t need to learn terminal commands, manage API keys, or worry about running experimental agents on your own laptop. It should just work, and it should be accessible to anyone who’s curious.
That’s a big part of why we built Gensee Crate: https://crate.gensee.ai
The goal was to make OpenClaw something people can try instantly — no setup, no API keys, and no need to run it locally. Just open a browser and start using it.
Also very curious to hear what kinds of things people end up building or automating with it.
Hi, I'm a UCSD professor and co-founder of GenseeAI. I've been working on AI agent infrastructure research for over a year, but I spent an entire weekend to finally set up OpenClaw to do work on a new MacBook, and it burned me $16 to run a LinkedIn connection content searching using Claude-Opus. That's why my co-founder and I decided to build Gensee Crate: https://crate.gensee.ai
✅ We made it completely free — No API keys, no credit card.
✅ We took care of the installation and setup complexity, so you can get a fully working OpenClaw within a minute.
✅ We set up a GPU cluster to run the largest frontier open-source model so OpenClaw can accomplish complex tasks in seconds, for free.
✅ We sandbox each OpenClaw instance, so you can spawn, snapshot, and rollback them at any point.
If you've been curious about OpenClaw but don't want to deal with the setup headaches or risk it tampering with your PC, try Crate.
I would be curious to learn how everyone use Crate (you'll have to DM me, as we don't have any way to look into your sandbox).
