Very useful and founder friendly from my experience using it. Aggregation of such big datasets gives a massive aid to first time founders, keep rocking guys!
@graeme_fulton Thank you very much. Gibraltar is not necessarily our focus but since we built the infrastructure... we might as well help creators in Gibraltar or Venezuela :D

It's a great visual designed website, easy to use and the team is constantly working on developing their product even further, searching for new investors etc. They really make the search for external financing for startups way easier!
@kai do not know how I could only see this now. Thanks a lot for taking the time to write to review. Please always reach out, if you have thoughts about how we could make GlassDollar better.

Looking at the portfolio of the fund that I work at, it seems like the industry tag is set on Other for 65% of companies, but if you plugged into the Crunchbase API you could get the info for all of them. Finding investors with a strong background and network in your same market is really important, so I think you'd make the product much more useful if you closed that data gal. Congrats on shipping this, it looks very clean (maybe give me a way to X out of the ProductHunt header, it takes up most of the screen on mobile).
@fanahova Awesome, thanks a lot for the detailed feedback and the pointer.
You should be able to click on 'view more' to see what' 'other' consists of. Also apologies, mobile isn't 100% optimized for yet.
Talking about industry classification:
this is one of harder challenges we need to solve - every data source we have has their own classification: how to create and translate this into our own standard, with the goal of neatly summing this up as for a user to understand what the fund is about very quickly (also the investor search hinges on this).
I recently wrote a guest-blog on how we use MonkeyLearn's machine learning to improve this process: If you're interested, give it a read: https://monkeylearn.com/blog/gla...
Any further suggestions / observations are warmly welcome
Most good investors have a core set of beliefs about ideas, market, founders, etc. that they look into before investing in a company. To me, it looks like this website does a good job of giving you a match based on what an investor has invested in, in the past, and your selected options; but that's only one piece of the puzzle.
Nonetheless, great product and thank you for making this! :)
Kartik
Pros:
It provides pretty valuable information for an entrepreneur!
Cons:
It matches based on previous stats but not the underlying values of the investors, and that is very important.
Hey Kartik, thanks for taking the time.
I agree that there is more to investors than their past investments. With this https://glassdollar.com/meetinve... we are collecting the first qualitative criteria of investors.
Would revenue requirements or requirements towards the founder team (e.g. technical founder) help?
