Most courses bore you for three chapters before teaching you anything new. Hakken interviews you (by text or voice!) about what you already know about a topic and how much time you have. It then writes a course for exactly that. Plus, the lessons speak - any module can be turned into a podcast for the commute. And there's an AI tutor riding along that can adapt the course as you go and answer questions about the content (yes, out loud too!)
What's great
Helped to get back to learning Japanese. I was on Intermediate level with many years break, so starting with books and apps like Duolingo is a chore of going through things I already know. Hakken asks couple of questions and generates matching course. Asked it to create real life examples with and pair it with grammar knowledge and it created audio dialogues with each line explained.
vs Alternatives
Duolingo
ChatGPT by OpenAII tried Duolingo but it's too rigid, boring and simplistic. Tried just using ChatGPT but it couldn't do audio dialogue well and learning plan was just a static one of thing... It's much easier when Hakken does it for you.

This was a really cool product to use as someone who spends more time searching for answers for things I’m learning about than being able to learn - the course structure and the ability to be able to have it meet you exactly where you are is such a massive benefit! Even being cheeky and have the courses created for super niche subjects blew my mind. Amazing work!

Have really enjoyed my early experience with Hakken, particularly the logic behind the intake to help craft a course tailor-made for me. Now to overcome the next hurdle of making best use of it!
