Write short entries, make threads with them, search them by meaning, and revisit them through intelligent recommendations related to your recent writing — all that with on-device, non-generative AI. Iglu is the most private journaling app out there.

"Search by meaning" sounds magical—is it keyword-agnostic (e.g., finds "resilience" in entries about hiking)? If so, maybe layer in mood-tracking trends over time? Obsessed with the anti-cloud ethos here.

@desmond_ren1 yup, you got it! It doesn’t need exact keywords when searching, you can search something like “workout and food” to find “went to the gym before having dinner”.
It tries to understand the general meaning of what you write, it doesn’t care much about the actual words.
Awesome idea! What exactly do you have in mind? Something like getting insights about the general topics of your entries over time?
I’m glad you like it! Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it 🙏
I really love this—especially the semantic search, which is quite impressive.
I’m curious, though—how accurately does it reflect the user’s true intent when searching?

@kay_arkain great question! I personally find it to be quite accurate, though I'm certainly biased 👀. We use semantic search but also consider exact keywords, in case the user is looking for a specific word. Give it a try and lmk what you think!
It's free (forever) for anyone who downloads now, btw.

This is absolutely beautifully crafted, Rafa! The fact that iglu leverages on-device intelligence without compromising privacy is a huge win for anyone who journals but doesn’t want their thoughts floating around in someone’s cloud. ☁️🧠
Semantic search and recommendation features sound like they’ll make rediscovery a joy — I love the “Explore” idea as a way to spark reflection or memory. 🔍📔
Also, massive respect for building this with no accounts, no tracking, and purely local AI. This is the kind of mindful tech we need more of.
Can’t wait to see how iglu evolves — any thoughts on bringing this to iPad or macOS next?
iglu
@kui_jason wow, thanks!
That's a great idea, iglu on iPad or Mac would let us do some pretty nice things with all that screen real-estate. If you have nay ideas, drop them here, I'd love to hear it :)

Congrats on the launch, Rafa! 🎉
iglu looks like a beautifully thoughtful take on journaling — love the concept of micro-entries connected in threads, and the use of on-device semantic AI is seriously impressive. The privacy-first approach (no accounts, no servers, iCloud backup only) really stands out — especially in an era where most apps feel data-hungry by default.
The intelligent ‘Explore’ tab sounds like a really delightful way to rediscover your past self without having to dig manually. Looking forward to trying it out — this might just become my new go-to for quick daily reflection. 🙌
Wishing you lots of love from the PH community 💙

@williamrobertscott thanks for the kind words! Your comment was spot-on, you got it!
One of the most important things that journaling apps fail to do is exploration. Users want to write, but they also want to revisit. And the game changer here is passive exploration (i.e. recommendations). Sometimes you don't know what you're looking for. That's the best way of going back in time and making the process fun/engaging.
Thanks for the feedback! Once you do try it out, feel free to come back and tell me your experience! I'd love to hear it.
