Lyra is a music app built for simplicity and freedom. Import playlists from Spotify and YouTube, listen without ads or interruptions, and enjoy the music you love. The app is completely free, the only optional upgrade is higher audio quality. No locked features, no tricks, just music. Built by a small team focused on transparency, Lyra lets you enjoy your playlists your way.

Download button is not working on the website, also for music industry, cashflow is a necessity to pay for licencing fees.
first question: How do you plan to monetize your app?
Everyone's using spotify and they do not seem to be bothered by subs.
second question: Why would they stop using spotify and use your app instead?
My recommendation: Iterate the product till the point where Lyra offers a useful(for its target audience) feature that spotify does not.
For now, Lyra seems to be free spotify and subscription is not a problem of spotify users.

1. I paste below an answer we wrote a day ago:
The app is based on YouTube, so every stream is a standard YouTube playback. This means:
Each listen counts as a view on YouTube
YouTube is responsible for licensing, copyright management, and royalty distribution
Artists and rights holders are compensated through YouTube’s existing systems
They would switch from Spotify to Lyra because it’s a valid alternative, completely free... I’m not sure if you’ve followed all the controversy around Spotify’s ads and the discussions about military-related investments, but many people, even those who were fine with a freemium plan, no longer want to be targets or indirect supporters of a service whose large-scale investment choices don’t align with their own values.
We will! we already have some features in the pipeline to roll out, and we’re always listening to new needs and feedback.
Thanks for reporting the issues!
Hello, want to report that i really enjoy your app and i am greatful of finding it, but i have a massive log in issue, the app keeps logging me out until i was unable to log in anymore just two days of use. Any way I could get some support ? Really want my account back! Was building a playlist :(

Congrats for the launch!
Quick question: How does Lyra handle artist and author rights to ensure fair compensation and proper licensing while keeping it free for listeners?

Really liking Lyra so far, feels super clean, no ads and the sound quality is solid. The playlist import thing is a lifesaver too, saves me from rebuilding everything from YT. One thing I’m curious about though: since everything is free and there are no ads, how does Lyra plan to sustain itself long‑term? Would love to understand the revenue model or future roadmap.
Overall, great launch.. excited to see how this evolves!

@iamrajanrk Thank you very much!
At the moment, we offer a single premium plan that unlocks higher audio quality.
In the future, we may introduce additional paid features, but for now our goal is to keep the core experience completely free.
I keep getting logged out for no reason and need to log in again, when logging back in the button does not work or it tells me I’ve written something wrong, when I then come back a little while later it then works for a little and logs me back out, please help !

On top of that, we really care about our community. Many features, like playlist importing were suggested and refined thanks to feedback from our Reddit and Discord channels.
Last but not least, we’re a small, apolitical team focused on keeping music separate from the controversial decisions made by big corporations these days.
