After 12+ years in tech as a program manager and other various corporate roles, I walked away from that career to build this full-time — not an easy call, but it felt right. It really started with bedtime stories for my son, and watching how much brighter he got hearing stories that felt like his instead of generic cartoon content. I also run a couple of art cafés in the Himalayas and teach yoga in downtown Toronto, and a lot of this idea actually came together during yoga practice — thinking about mindfulness, and how rarely kids today get taught values or respect the way stories used to teach them. This is really three parts of my life — tech, art, mindfulness — coming together into something I could hand my own son. Problem : Most kids' content is generic: same characters, same settings, nothing tied to who a kid actually is or where they come from. Screens have made kids passive — they watch, they don't create — and that's a real loss for imagination. Mindfulness, values, and respect, things I sit with a lot through yoga, just aren't taught anywhere in kids' media anymore. So we built for all three: stories rooted in real culture, audio-first so kids' own imaginations do the work, and content meant to teach values, not just entertain. How did your approach evolve? We didn't try to cover every culture or learning at once — we picked one, went deep, and let families tell us where to go next. That's grown into real partnerships — we're now working directly with schools and local institutions to bring this into how kids actually learn. We just onboarded a FIFA series so kids can learn through World Cup stories, which ties right back to where this whole idea started. And it's not a solo build anymore — I've teamed up with other moms from Dallas and Denver who believe in this as much as I do, and they've been pushing it forward alongside me. This one's personal — built around my own kid, my own practice, and a lot of nights after leaving a stable career.
