Netdata collects metrics per second and presents them in beautiful low-latency dashboards. It is designed to run on all of your physical and virtual servers, cloud deployments, Kubernetes clusters, and edge/IoT devices, to monitor your systems, containers, and applications. It scales nicely from just a single server to thousands of servers, even in complex multi/mixed/hybrid cloud environments, and given enough disk space it can keep your metrics for years.

Happy so far, though wondering how to resync log data after a node loses internet connection? It's still capturing locally but not sending it up for the down time after reconnecting it seems.

I've used it on multiple servers and am really impressed. Fastest updates I've ever seen on a monitoring product. Easy to install, finds all metrics automatically, really amazed so far.

I've found netdata to be a very fast and simple tool to get instant monitoring in what's happening in your infra. I love the fact that it's serverless and all the integrations it comes with. The hysteresis provided by the conditional evaluation operator is very useful for avoiding extra messages in slack. Right now, the best monitoring tool if you're starting with your infra or just need something light (but powerful too) The only disadvantage I see right now is a central monitoring dashboard, yes, you can build it with the examples but is not as straightforward as the product per se. The day this feature exists (community or Enterprise) netdata will be a nice player in the monitoring game.

As a user of FreeNAS, this product is installed by way of a plugin available for install in FreeNAS's menus. I can't say enough about it. It helps me find the performance data I need IMMEDIATELY and without any waste of time. I just wish FreeNAS was better about keeping it's plugins updated and/or EASY to update.

@cuu508 - I don't know that "free" is necessarily fair to everyone. After all, if there was no money to be made, we might not see quite as much innovation. But, in many cases, I do agree that the software should probably be shared on a more broad scale as a lot of software that's actually useful is far overpriced.
