I'm really excited (and honestly a little emotional) to share Next Break with you today.

I'm a software engineer, and like a lot of us, I work really hard — often too hard. When I get into deep focus, I completely forget to take breaks. I’d sit for hours without moving, ignoring all the signals my body was sending. Eventually, it caught up to me — I developed sciatic pain, and it started affecting my health and mood.
My wife (she is a designer btw) kept reminding me — sometimes arguing with me — to please take better care of myself.

But even when I wanted to take a break... I didn’t know what to do.
Sure, I could go for a walk or play with my dog, but it always felt like I was cycling through the same two ideas. I realized I needed more inspiration — and when you're tired, even thinking about how to take a break becomes strangely hard.

After we built Griddr together, we decided to take on this problem too. She designed and I coded — again. 🛠️❤️

Next Break is the tool I wish I had earlier:

📅 It integrates with your Google Calendar (only reading free/busy status!) and automatically schedules breaks when it finds gaps.
❤️ You can save activities you like and build your own list.
👍👎 And you can like or dislike tips, so future breaks get even smarter.

We just launched on iOS (Download here) and are planning to expand to Android soon! 📱

We've had amazing beta users, and based on their feedback, we're already thinking about:

📺 Casting to bigger screens.
🎧 Adding audio-based activities.
