Ooln feels like the trading coach we’ve all needed. Most platforms throw endless charts and indicators at you, but they don’t solve the real problem—emotions. The fact that Ooln sometimes advises not to trade is brilliant. It flips the industry’s “always trade” mindset and instead promotes confidence, discipline, and long-term success.
I especially love the blend of machine learning + sports psychology—it’s rare to see fintech apps tackle both the data and the human side of trading. The early feedback is impressive, and I can easily see Ooln becoming the go-to app for beginners who want to start trading without being overwhelmed. Huge kudos to the team for rethinking the trading experience from the ground up.
I think it’s really refreshing to see a trading app that values discipline. Most platforms pressure people to trade constantly, but Ooln’s approach of sometimes telling you not to trade really stands out to me. I’m curious how you track or account for a trader’s emotions in the system, and how those signals are combined with market data to decide when holding back is the smarter move.
@benjamin_lu5 The emotional tracking happens through behavioral patterns - things like trade frequency, timing relative to market moves, and adherence to predefined risk levels. We're planning to roll out many more psychological features (mental warm-up, emotional regulation) but right now we just want to help our users become more consistent traders.
I believe that this app tackles an issue that isn’t even mentioned in the other apps: emotional decision making. A trading app that tells its users NOT to trade if it’s a bad idea is a game changer in my view.
HOWEVER… I believe that the UI (on the phone) has a lot of areas for potential improvement. There are some options that as a trader I’d like to see without extra clicks and touches:
1- like how much money I am putting down for each individual trade. As I understand, this option is called budget per trade, and hidden behind preferences. Other than this, I don’t see any other place to pick how many of that stock I want or how much money I want to put down. (Admittedly I did not link my broker account, so if it shows up after I do, then ignore this)
2- I want to be able to swipe up and down to see other stocks.
3- the company description could use more detail, for example who the CEO is, and maybe even we can click on the CEO to see other companies he has managed before.
4- I would LOVE to see their quarterly financial reports or at least an easy to read, AI summary of it with notable details. Green or red flags.
This app has a lot of potential and room for improvement. I understand that the app just launched, so some missing features are completely understandable.
I definitely dig the idea of this app.
@ali_zargari1 Thank you for the detailed feedback! You're absolutely right about the emotional decision-making gap - no one else is tackling that. Really appreciate the specific UI suggestions - budget per trade visibility, swiping between stocks, enhanced company details, and AI-summarized financials are all solid ideas.
When I made my robinhood account in my sophomore year, I invested around $300 and lost 60.... Then I quit trading for 2 straight years. When I started learning more about it, I invested 300 again and made 84 in 3 months (without touching my account). I have a passion to help every newbie in stock market to not lose 20% of their money because they do not know about stocks.
@sarthak_aggarwal3 Your story perfectly illustrates what we're trying to solve. The difference in your second attempt wasn't just more knowledge, it was discipline and patience. That's exactly what Ooln is designed to teach from day one. We built this because even experienced traders (ourselves included) fall into emotional traps. New traders shouldn't have to learn these expensive lessons the hard way. Thanks for sharing your experience!
This is exactly what the trading market needs. Most platforms just give you more noise, but Ooln acts as a decision-making framework, which only top firms and traders usually have and say is the backbone of their decision making process, the idea of a 'mental coach' that separates disciplined trading from emotional gambling is something that is perfect which couldve only been built with the advancement of Machine Learning and Generative AI.
What you're building for the "guerilla investor" is powerful. Congrats on the launch!
@aaron_guo4 Appreciate this! That’s exactly our vision, bringing the discipline and frameworks usually reserved for top firms to everyday traders. Excited to see how far we can take the mental coach approach for guerrilla investors.
It's very interesting to see how machine learning and sports psychology are used in the trading space. Would like to learn more but seems like a very exciting product.
@pranay_raj_kapoor Thanks! We’re blending performance psychology with ML to tackle the biggest challenge in trading: discipline. Happy to share more anytime!
This is a truly original approach to trading. What makes it significant isn't just the advice to not trade, but the feedback loop that comes about as a result. Most trading tools are built on the principle that more data al ways leads to better decisions, which often disregards the human element entirely. This disregards the main issue for beginner traders that doesn't stem form a lack of information but rather the cognitive overload and/or the emotional biases that can overwhelm them at a crucial moment. Ooln's intention to provide a structure for traders with an AI that provides well-placed, counter-intuitive advice is a shockingly new approach. In a way, this product is an AI for emotional discipline, and I'm very intrigued to see how it will play out.
@nithesh_senthil Exactly, it's cognitive overload and emotional interference, not information scarcity. More data often makes decisions harder, not better. The feedback loop is key. When users see "don't trade" recommendations improve their results, it shifts them from outcome-based to process-based thinking. Thanks for seeing the bigger picture.
This is definitely something I’d use myself automating trading while still building user trust is amazing. I really like how Ooln goes beyond charts and noise by simplifying trading even for beginners, and being thoughtful enough to offer choices of investment types and multiple sectors.
This app tackles one of the biggest issues in trading which is complex tools that overwhelm beginners who want to invest. By automating trades and even telling you when not to trade, it builds trust, confidence, and structure for users at every level. Really excited to see Ooln grow!
@petera_major You've captured the core problem, complex tools create barriers instead of removing them. The personalization ensures relevant opportunities, not generic noise. Our automation removes friction from good decisions, not control from you. When you have clear levels and defined risk, execution becomes simple.
Most people learn trading through expensive mistakes - we're flipping that equation. Thanks for the support!
