looks like the 90's hacker version of what package repositories actually are. *not a complaint* my suggestion would be to limit range of colors on badges, icons, and graphs.
@jeffrey_wyman One of our earlier bets were to start with a dark color theme and a pretty bold color palette. That was a risky choice.
Turns out it's quite polarizing, but luckily, we found the vast majority of our users love that.
We did prefer it over the plain-vanilla design of most developer tools nowadays, which can be easy on the eyes, but can be boring, too.
I understand it's not your cup of tea and I'm sorry to hear that.
We obviously refine, polish, and iterate on our design on a regular basis, so hopefully you'll find it better in a couple of months. In the future we might introduce other color themes to choose from.
Thanks @rjurney
We're very bullish on package reviews and ratings.
We also plan on adding lists soon (so you can save your favorite packages, packages you want to save for later, packages you want to share with colleagues).
Nevertheless, we want to improve some aspects of the product (filtering categories by framework, adding bundle size, better side-by-side comparisons).
We do plan on expanding to other programming languages in the future.
Anything in particular you'd like to see on Openbase?
@bntzio Thank you very much, really appreciate it :) I'm always open to listen to our users, and make better choices in matter of UI and UX. So if you have any questions or feedback, feel free to contact me at gil@openbase.io
