Love this idea! I think this could tie into a great baby shower activity. Does it just show your child at one age, or multiple ages. Further, once the future-parents are actually expecting, I wonder if feeding in an image from an ultrasound could give an even more accurate idea of what their grade-schooler would look like. - Mom of a 6-year-old + UnlimitedBG product team

π‘ Bright idea
Hey Yifan!
That's a great product π but I will be honest with you I don't believe the results are statistically fair. Imagine a couple has four kids of different age - and they can be absolutely different. On the examples above all four girls and all four boys look exactly the same.
Have you thought about injecting the real probabilities into the generation to have the output closer to the reality?
@laocool Thanks for the feedback, German! Do you mean like make the results differ more?
Report
@imgyf on the high level yes, but it would great if this is based on the real algorithms and probability derived from anthropology and face morphology. Also, you need to take into account the age, as face shape (due to scull growth), wrinkles and emotions evolves a lot and shouldn't be similar to what adults have.
Even better would be if you have thousands of images of parents and their children you can train the model on.
Congrats on the launch!
To make the offer more appealing, what about including some value added extras with someoneβs purchase? For example, you could have a name generator that recommends a few names, taking into account what might sound nice with the names of the parents and their last name.
@bryanmcanulty Alrighty! Putting that into my product roadmap rn

The idea is pretty nice, but the monetization brings some questions. Donβt you think this price for one time payment is too much before a customer finally gets something? π€
@je_suis_yaroslav Yes I do agree that it's a bit much. Probably a trial with watermarked photos will be good!
Report
@imgyf yeah, sounds really better. But the best way is to conduct users research (as interviews or survey) with βhow much are you ready to pay for result?β question and then make a data-driven decision
@imgyf@je_suis_yaroslav
Highly disagree:
- People likely don't care that much about the HD result, they're just curious and want to see how it looks. Watermark or no makes no difference, so they'd basically be using the app for free
- Asking someone "how much are you ready to pay for result?" is the best way to get a cheap lowballed price. The only way to know how much people are willing to pay is to split-test prices
Report
@nicolas_jeanne watermark that blures the result (e.g. being overlapped with face) proves that the app is not scam, but doesnβt solve the problem/demand/curiousity
Why is $9 so un-affordable? there are costs involved in generating the images. Also, so much value for new parents who are anxious and want to try out something new while they wait for their baby to arrive. I gifted to someone in my circle and they like it! Only feedback from them was that the babies had features that made them look adult, like fully formed face structure, light moustache and prominently taking one (father or mother) as the default for generating the output.
@mrnick_buzz Thanks for gifting my product to your friends and family, Nick! I will take note of that feedback and work on it ππΌ

Hello! This is a fun tool! Especially when you already have kids - it is great to compare the reality and what is generated.
Do you see any commercial extension for this?
@maria_loleyt Hey Maria, I had some customers who compared reality to what's generated and it came quite close!
What kinda commercial extension would you suggest? π
The pricing seems very unaffordable. But the idea looks awesome! I wonder if it really works as well.
About testing: What if I upload a picture of both of my parents? Will the result look anything like my brother and I did?
@alexwastaken Feedback noted, Alessandro! How much do you think it should be priced at? π
I'm pretty sure the results will look like your brother and you!
