What inspired you to build this?
I was tired of watching teams and communities drown in a sea of disconnected tools — one app for chat, another for scheduling, another for invoicing, yet another for content. Every new tool meant another login, another tab, another silo of data that never talked to the rest. I wanted to build the platform I wished existed: a single, modular workspace where everything lives under one roof — and where you can even step into a shared 3D space with your team instead of staring at yet another grid of webcam tiles.
What problem were you trying to solve?
Fragmentation kills momentum. Small businesses, communities, and growing teams shouldn't need to duct-tape ten SaaS products together just to operate. Sephym solves that by offering a unified, extension-based platform — chat, booking, invoicing, CMS, community, team management, stats — all pluggable, all integrated. Need it? Activate it. Don't? Leave it off. No bloat, no compromise.
How did your approach evolve?
It started as a simple internal tool. Then I realized the real power was in modularity. So I rebuilt the entire architecture around a dynamic extension system — each module is self-contained with its own manifest, components, and stores, but they all share the same data layer and seamlessly communicate with each other. The biggest leap was adding Place — an immersive 3D virtual space where community members can walk around, sit, and interact as avatars. That shifted Sephym from "just another workspace" to something that genuinely reimagines how people connect online. Along the way, I also made it multilingual from day one (French, English, German, Spanish) because the vision was always global.
