Port 22 open to the internet means bots knocking all day. Behind NAT or a corporate firewall, it often isn't reachable at all.
The Servor agent works the other way around: it opens an outbound connection to us and keeps it alive. That gives you a terminal, files, cron, services and fleet commands without any inbound port, on Linux, macOS and Windows. The agent is a single compiled binary with no runtime to install, available for 7 OS/arch targets, and its source is public.
Can I manage servers running on different Linux distributions from the same console?
@renly_borris Yes. One console for all of them. The agent is a single static binary, so it runs the same way on Ubuntu, Debian, Alpine, Rocky, Fedora, Arch, openSUSE and others, on x86 and ARM. You can even mix in macOS and Windows machines.
Each server shows its distribution, and recipes check the system first before doing anything (apt vs dnf vs apk, systemd or not). That way, the same recipe works across your fleet.
Congrats, Servor team! Nice to be launching alongside you today. Benson is live too: https://www.producthunt.com/products/benson-2. Would appreciate a comment or some support if you get a spare minute. Hope it's a good day for you!
@dougsilkstone1 Thanks Doug, and congrats on the Benson launch! I'll take a look today. Good luck to both of us 🚀
