I really like its minimalist design. Everything in it is so simple and concise. It's very easy, handy, and straightforward to use. I feel it's very convenient to use it, so I love it, and I have already used it for a long time.
What needs improvement
Frankly speaking, I haven't thought of anything that it can improve
vs Alternatives
It's extremely easy to use. Even if you know nothing about it, after installation, I believe you can still get started very quickly. I believe this is its major advantage. That's why I chose it in the first place. I have been using it since my college years. After so many years, I feel that I just can't leave it anymore.
How easy is it to migrate notes in and out?
I haven't touched on this "migrate notes in and out" feature yet. It's not very useful for me.
Is performance still fast with thousands of notes?
Yes, its performance is still stable and reliable even if you have tons of notes.
How dependable are desktop and mobile apps day-to-day?
I always use its desktop app. I haven't touched on its mobile app yet.
I rely on this tool for sharing non-sensitive notes within my team. It’s fast, easy to use, and great for collaboration. Encryption would be a nice addition, but otherwise, it works flawlessly.

It's one of the sweetest note app ever made. I use it on Mac, Web & Android. It's super light, notes are searchable with tags. The best feature is you can share the note with someone by just adding their e-mail in the tags. This sharing is fun. It's more like a simpler version for notes with some features from say evernote, keep & google docs. But super simple.

Simplenote is a great basic note-taking app. Sometimes the more full-featured note-taking apps are more hassle than they're worth when you just need to jot down a quick idea.
The markdown support is particularly nice, allowing for quick and easy formatting when you do need it.
The notes quickly sync across mobile apps and the web app, which means your notes are available when you need them. I've used this app for a few years now and it's my go-to note app.
Pros:
Simple, Fast, Multi-platform, Markdown support
Cons:
Tagging system less functional than folders

Simplenote is one of those finest note-taking apps you can ask for. Coming from Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, it enables seamless ability to publish the notes online. Great app, to sum it up!
Pros:
Easy to use, cross-platform availability and supports markdown on the Mac app, tag based note sharing, ability to publish notes online
Cons:
Markdown support is not available on mobile versions as yet. Likely to be available soon.
After using Apple Note, OneNote, Evernote, SimpleNote ends up to be my default note app, despite (or maybe *because of*) its seemingly lacking of advanced features.
Pros:
As the name suggests, the app is very simple! Everything is very stable (sync, history, offline).
Cons:
The markdown doesn't really work the way we expect and support for markdown is not on all platforms.
Add a code snippet saving/sharing like github gist.
Pros:Simple, clean interface.
Cons:A Code Snippet feature would have been awesome!
