SnapRewrite is a flexible macOS AI writing assistant built around selected text. Highlight text in any app, trigger an action, and rewrite it in place without switching tabs or copying and pasting between tools. Beyond basic rewrite and polish, SnapRewrite lets you create custom AI commands for your own writing workflows. You can use built-in free models or connect your own OpenAI-compatible APIs, so the experience adapts to how you write.

Does SnapRewrite handle technical or niche terminology well, or is it more geared toward general English writing?
SnapRewrite
@md_saifali This depends on the AI models you've used. In my view, AI has significantly advanced in handling technical and terminological processing, so it should not pose a significant problem; Feel free to make a nice attempt.

@dudupanda Congrats on launching SnapRewrite 🎉
I’m curious how custom AI commands work. Can you set one to always adapt text to a certain tone or style automatically?
@dudupanda @deangelo_hinkle this seems super useful for writing app store content. I often struggle to make short copy sound natural without sounding too formal.

Thank you for your interest. Yes, this is precisely what custom AI commands and system prompts are intended for. You can define a reusable system prompt that automatically rewrites selected text into a specified tone or style.
An example using a Tone Transformer (YOUR_LIKE_TONE) is provided below.

Does it work on web as well as deskop apps?

@syed_shayanur_rahman Yes, it operates across all desktop applications. Please notify me of any incompatible apps. Thank you for your attention.
