Woah! OK, a few things: 1) socyal.com is a FANTASTIC domain name. 2) This product is genius. 3) Praising and recognizing good behaviors is a psychological hack that I swear by. Congrats on your launch guys, this is amazing!

Hey this looks like a great product! One of the things that caught my eye was the recognition feature, but does it have any sort of rewards or monetary component to this?
Congrats on launching!

Thank you so much for your words and for taking interest in Socyal @kelli_veach !
You're spot on; the recognition feature is something we're really proud of π. As of now, while recognitions are focused on acknowledging and celebrating achievements in a meaningful way, we don't have a direct monetary rewards component integrated. However, it's a fantastic suggestion, and we're always looking to enhance Socyal based on what our users find valuable. So, stay tuned for future updates!
Thanks again for your support and feedback. It truly means the world to us on launch day!

Is there a desktop/web version on the roadmap?
What about the possibility of integrating with Slack or MS Teams?

@anthony_latona Hey Anthony, thank you for your comment and for asking these questions.
So currently we have a web version only for Workspace User Management, providing more robust capabilities compared to what you can do in the mobile app. A full blown desktop/web version of Socyal is not currently on our immediate roadmap.
Having said so, I'd be curious to know what specifically prompted your interest in this possibility.
Similarly, as it relates to integrations with platforms like Slack or MS Teams, while these are not currently in our immediate plans, we're open to exploring opportunities that align with user needs.
May I ask what specific use cases or needs you have in mind for these integrations?
If you find these aspects crucial or have a specific use case in mind, we'd be more than happy to discuss it further and explore potential solutions. Insights such as yours can definitely inform our decisions and roadmap.
@earl_c In my experience, platform adoption was challenging with a decent sized team (~100 or so).
One example was a recognition system which launched with reasonable initial success but within a few weeks, it was barely noticed. This was integrated into MS Teams to reduce distraction and remove having to sign into another system (it used Office SSO). Even with those reductions in user friction, it still was a challenge for HR to get people to use the platform regularly.
With the app only being on mobile, I'm not sure how much people would use it after the initial fanfare of implementing it. However, take that with a grain of salt since I'm coming from an entirely anecdotal place of seeing this one time; it's different for every company/team/org.
From a managerial perspective, I'd want to try and reduce distraction and overhead from everyone's day-to-day workload. This comes from 15 years in an agency where every second counted as it was all project based and usually hourly work, hence a strong focus on billing clients.
In any case, if there was anything ancillary to the required work of the day, we'd want to make it as easy to use as possible. The chosen platform's MS Teams integration allowed the users to interact entirely from an app they already had and used all day. All the user provisioning and management was done centrally, and that made deployment rather easy.
If it's not directly integrated with the chat app, then desktop would be preferred since everyone's in their browser most of the day anyway.
On the other hand, having to use your phone can be distracting in countless ways... you go to check this one work related app update but get sucked into social media or whatever, and that could derail an important task.
Nothing definitive here... just what came to mind which reminded me of a couple previously tough attempts to get the company using similar type systems.
I still think it looks great and if there's a good way to make it stick with the team, it would be excellent.
What's the ballpark cost per user?

@anthony_latona First off, thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed insights and personal experiences π. We genuinely value feedback like this. It's this kind of dialogue that helps us adapt and refine Socyal. π‘π‘π‘
I completely understand the concerns about adoption, especially with a large team. Launch enthusiasm versus long-term engagement is indeed a challenge many platforms face. Your anecdote about the recognition system is an all-too-common scenario, and itβs something weβve been mindful of from the get-go. The decision to go mobile-only with Socyal is rooted in the belief that feedback and recognition are personal and ongoing processes. We wanted to create a tool that could be easily accessible, even when one is away from their desk, during commutes, breaks, or any reflective moment. We haven't totally excluded a desktop/web version yet, we wanted to focus on the person first rather than just the 'employee'.
However, I absolutely resonate with your point about potential distractions. Well... It's a delicate balance to strike - ensuring accessibility without becoming another pull away from productivity. The goal with Socyal is to be an enriching part of an individualβs day, and NOT a detour.
Your perspective from the agency side is suuuuuuuper valuable and insightful for us, and it's got me thinking about how we can further streamline the experience.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Our journey with Socyal is one of evolution, and conversations like this are the waypoints that guide us. π€π€π€

@anthony_latona What's the ballpark cost per user? To address this question. Our commitment is to provide a solid footing for early adopters. That's why, for the foreseeable future, Socyal is entirely FREE. We're planning and working on monetizing AI features and other activities aimed for big teams and enterprises. However, rest assured, feedback and recognition, the core of our platform, will always remain at no cost.
For larger enterprises with unique needs, we're here to tailor solutions, and we have some solutions already in place. Feel free to reach out to us, and let's explore how Socyal can best serve your needs.

@anthony_latona Thanks very much for sharing your experience, Anthony.
I will have to concede that getting any performance management tool to stick can be very challenging. This has been my experience in the companies I have worked at.
With Socyal, one of the ways we attempted to address this reluctance, or in many cases just a simple lack or loss of interest, was by flipping the concept around and making it about YOU as an individual while within the context of your organization.
So on our roadmap are capabilities that will allow you to use Socyal to validate your experience externally because the Socyal data comes from verified people you have worked with in an org. One such capability we have today is the ability to share your recognitions you receive in Socyal directly to your social media and professional networking platforms (it's yours). So unlike, for example, LinkedIn, where anyone could give you a recommendation and the only proof that you know is each other is because you both said so, with Socyal, because you are verified as coworkers in a Socyal workspace, a Socyal recognition holds much more veracity.
To your point about switching from tools already being used in a workplace (like Teams) to a mobile, with its associated distractions, yes you make a fair point indeed. We have discussed integrating with such platforms (Teams, Slack, etc.) but as a small team running lean, our priorities are always in flux, so we haven't got it this yet.
Anthony, this has been an enlightening and productive conversation, so if you are up to it, I would love to continue it here or elsewhere.
Either way, thanks so much for taking the time so write and share your personal experience.
