In our opinion, Socyal stands out in the performance management space due to a couple of unique features that set us apart from existing, and established, solutions.
One key distinction is the way we approach collaborator relationships. Unlike other platforms, Socyal offers special types of bi-directional relationships that can be defined organically by everyone in a workspace. These relationships go beyond basic connections and empower individuals to assess those they interact with regularly, or occasionally, in the workplace. The outcome of this flexibility can be invaluable to leaders (as we learnt from our beta testing) as it collects multiple perspectives on people's performance, breaking free from hierarchical structures defined by the organization. The reports serve as a genuine reflection of work relationships across the organization, providing valuable insights about people and their collaborators, that might otherwise have remained hidden.
Next, our implementation of democratic performance assessments using a relative grid is quite unique. It aims to reduce biases various types of biases inherent in assessments. And the insights we've generated using the data points from this activity attempt to offer fresh perspectives on people's performance.
In our beta testing, we learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn't - from striking a balance between unstructured vs structured feedback, to individual vs group recognitions, and absolute vs relative assessments. We've constant adapted and refined as we learnt.
As it relates to our research, we've collaborated with external test groups who were seeking a flexible, easy to set up, and easy to use performance management solution. This real-world testing allowed us to gain further understanding of the true needs and preferences of people. Additionally, our insights have also been informed by industry leaders and recognized sources like Gartner, Forrester, HR Review, and others.
This third party research has been particularly crucial in our post-COVID era, where companies are still grappling with the challenges of performance management. It has served as a reminder of the importance of our mission and the relevance of Socyal in addressing these contemporary challenges.
Last but not least, there's more to come... we have some more unique capabilities we've conceptualized and that are on our roadmap. Can't say more than that yet. :)

Secondly, we allow teams to define their own specific skills, abilities, behaviors, and more. This approach guarantees that feedback is inherently contextual and relevant from the outset. Teams are assessing each other based on what matters most to them, making the process relevant and meaningful.
Thirdly, we ensure that feedback is not just a one-liner but a valuable exchange where individuals can respond and continue the conversation, making it an ongoing dialogue.
