Solid earns strong praise for delivering real, production-ready apps rather than throwaway prototypes. Reviewers highlight fast setup, an intuitive flow, and dependable full‑stack outputs with React/Node that feel “ownable” and extendable. Many compare it favorably to Lovable, V0, and Replit, citing superior results and a smoother path to deployment. Concerns center on credits running out during error fixes and wanting clearer guidance on plans, export readability, and long‑term maintainability. Overall, users report shipping working apps quickly, with several moving projects over after hitting limits elsewhere.
What is the pricing model here? How is it different than the competitors? What LLM engines are used in the background? Sometimes I hit a wall building with CLaude and then I switch to Gemini but I dont see that option there on Solid?
Solid
@anup_roy3 Great questions! 🙌
Pricing: pay-as-you-go credits. Every build costs credits, and you can top up or get daily free ones.
Difference: unlike competitors, Solid doesn’t lock you into Supabase or a toy backend — you get a full Node.js + Postgres + React stack, Dockerized and exportable. It’s real software you can extend.
LLMs: we orchestrate multiple models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, etc.) behind the scenes so you don’t have to switch. If one hits a wall, Solid routes around it automatically.
The goal is to remove friction so you just build — no dead ends, no rewrites 🚀
How easy is it to build native iOS and Android apps that can be launched in the app stores? Or is that functionality coming later?
@tkeith @eddelan @zerotox it is a nice app making platform to use. I actually loved it.. Just a little question. How do you differ Solid than Replit?
Maroo
Congrats on launch guys! How is that different to Base44? Not poking holes, just genuinely trying to understand the difference
Congrats @eddelan !
Honestly, haven’t seen a vibe coding platform handle end-to-end full stack implementation, including the database, all on its own. Really impressed!
I do have a few questions — Are there any plans to let developers make changes themselves, or will users have to rely on Solid for even small tweaks? I see an option to export, but are there any plans for GitHub/GitLab integrations? A two-way sync between the codebase and Solid would be great.
Tried to create my first project but it seems to be stuck
I'm in the process of heavily testing these types of tools. Unfortunately, I ran into this error. I'd definitely be interested in diving into solid.
