Hi everyone, I’m Shannon, the founder of TailSafe and solo parent to two dogs and two cats.
One day I found myself wondering:
What would happen to them if I got into a car accident and couldn’t make it home?
How long would it take for someone to realize they needed care? A day? Two days? Longer?
There’s no backup plan for moments like that - just the hope that I'd be able to text a nearby friend in time.
Our pets rely on us completely, yet most of us don’t have a real plan for the unexpected. In reality, pets can be at serious risk within 24–48 hours without food, water, or care.
That realization led me to build TailSafe, an app that ensures someone is alerted and able to step in if you can’t. It works by checking in with you daily, and if you don’t respond, it alerts your designated backup carer with everything they need.
TailSafe is especially helpful for pet parents who live alone or travel frequently, though it’s a smart safeguard for anyone who wants extra peace of mind.
