I bought this app a couple of days ago just after reading about it on MacRumors. It is just great. I have so often come across something on the screen but I always had to re-type it into a document. Yes, I could always create a PDF file from the screen, then feed it through an OCR software, then extract the words that I wanted, but that is so cumbersome and time consuming. Now with TextSniper, I just highlight the words, then paste it into my own file.
Another great example, I read some comics in French, I highlighted the text, then paste into Google Translate, and out came English. Very nice.

I use this daily, it has replaced so many aspects of my workflow. I used to use a tool that would 'remove formatting' from copied text, TextSniper replaced that, and became my best workflow buddy... I also use CleanShot, and Paste as the trifecta of workflow cohesion, and an overall reduction in operational friction.

I'm concerned about the privacy. Does this send to an online API or OCR only locally?
@jeffrey2 I should update my privacy. Its processing text recognition locally. You can turn off Wi-Fi and the app will be still usable. Thanks for asking.
