love the dual approach with shadowing and dictation, that combo really clicks for me. one thing that would help a lot is letting us upload our own audio clips or podcasts to shadow, so i can practise with content i actually care about instead of just yt videos.
finally something that actually uses youtube as a real learning tool instead of pretending caption-clicking counts as study. the dictation being scored word by word is genuinely useful, feels way more honest than those apps that just give you a vague percentage at the end.
would love to see a difficulty filter so i can pick videos by speaker speed or accent, the bbc clips are a bit fast for me but ted talks feel just right
The word-by-word dictation scoring is such a clever idea, but it would be way more useful if you could slow down longer sentences and tap the tricky words to hear them broken into smaller chunks, then your dictation logic kicks back in for the slower audio.
