I built Will U Be There because I kept having the same frustrating experience - I'd visit a city and only find out days later that a friend was there at the same time. Or somebody I knew lived there but I didn't know / forgot and missed the opportunity to catch up! Group chats and social media posts don't solve this because nobody broadcasts every trip in advance. So I built an app where you simply add your upcoming trips and it does the rest. It cross-references your plans with your friends' trips and tells you when you'll be in the same place. It even detects when you're visiting a friend's home city. A few things I'm proud of: - Privacy-first: all matching runs server-side in PostgreSQL with PostGIS — your location data stays in the database, not on other people's devices - Localized in 17 languages from day one - No tracking, no ads — just a simple tool that solves a real problem This isn't a daily app. You might open it 3 times a year. But those 3 times? You'll be glad it exists — because it helped you actually meet a friend in person. We've never been more connected and more lonely at the same time. I built this because I think real presence matters. And sometimes you just need a little nudge to make it happen.

Really cool idea tbh! curious to see how it goes, had the same thing happen to me so I have sent it over to some friends too, hopefully will give some more adventures with good old friends, nice one Igor :)

Missing friends while traveling

I was visiting my friend last year in Valencia, and while I was there he mentioned that he just saw another friend of mine like a few days ago. I instantly texted him but it was too late - he already left Spain. I haven't seen him for ages and we would love to hang out - if only we knew one of us could eaisly alter plans so that we can meet.

This is when the idea of the app was born - while were we thinking on how to not miss this opportunity next time.
