Storybound

What's great

Storybound is friggin awesome. Every kid has ideas and stories floating in their head and storybound lets them turn it into an actual book! Even a physical copy if you want! What I love is that unlike other tools that just make up a whole story with a few prompts, Storyound actually guides the user through the story telling process, asking questions, even making suggestions if you get stuck, rather than just filling in the blanks for you. What you end up with is truly YOUR story and YOUR characters! So cool

What needs improvement

I ran into a few glitches, which is normal for a new launch, but nothing major, I’m sure those will get worked out. Right now it’s only on the web, I’d love to see an app so my kids can use it without needing to use a browser (would feel more comfortable letting them use it without supervision)

vs Alternatives

Storybound was the only AI-story generator I could find that didn’t skip over the actual ‘writing’ process. To me, that was the whole point! It guides you through the process by asking questions and making suggestions if you seem to get stuck. Rather than just giving a robot and idea and it spits something out, by the end of using Storybound, you really do feel like you wrote a story!

Also - it’s already integrated with a printer, so you can order a physical copy!! How cool is that?!
