One of the things I like about GitHub that with a bit of discipline, you can use it as a collaboration tool for almost everybody. The UI is clearly for developers, but it's easy enough to use and the basic concepts are easy enough to understand (just the basic fork/issue/edit/PR/merge process) that it also works for non-developers.
