I'm Daniel, spearheading operations at ContentBlocks, a startup on a mission to revolutionize the online learning industry. My background is primarily in recruitment and organizational development at companies like TED, Canada Drives and within the Canadian Fintech sector. At ContentBlocks, we're building an end-user focused platform that transforms how creators deploy and engage with their online products. Collaborating closely with our CEO (an industry pioneer), our shared goal is to empower creators, coaches (really anyone building engaging material online) and drive innovation in a market that we feel is ripe for a fresh approach.

Vote selling on Product Hunt

Every day, after launching, makers are contacted on LinkedIn and X by people offering to sell votes. As the Product Hunt team, we are very much aware of this and really hate it. We have systems in place to neutralize this type of gaming. Every vote counts for a different number of points on Product Hunt. A couple examples:

  • An account with a recently created gmail address and no history of quality contributions on Product Hunt: this vote will count for 0 points. Yes, this might be a well intentioned user, but we take a conservative approach to protect the community. If the account has a company email or applies for verification on Product Hunt, that's a different story.

  • An account with a company email address linked to a legitimate LinkedIn account with a history of meaningful contributions on Product Hunt: this vote carries significant weight.

A couple questions for the community:

  • Are there specific accounts on Product Hunt that you suspect participate in vote selling? You can reply here or email report@producthunt.co

  • What would you want to see us do differently here?

Lifetime plan vs. subscription model? Sustainability issue

More and more companies are using a subscription model instead of a one-time payment for a product.

Duolingo, CapCut and the like are examples of subscription models (monthly or annual), while DaVinci Resolve, for example, has a lifetime license.

What do we need to do?

Hi everyone!
We are less than a month away from launching Anchored Growth here on Product Hunt! We're excited to show y'all what we have been building.
I would love to use this opportunity to the max and dive into the community here. Our goal for this launch is to gain more beta users. Beta user feedback has already helped with the design of Anchored Growth so much.

For those who have done this before, any advice on what we should focus on before, during and after our launch?
