There are 27 EU member states and 1 EU e-invoice standard, and so far I've implemented 21 country-specific versions of it. XRechnung in Germany, Factur-X in France, CIUS-RO in Romania, HR-CIUS in Croatia, and so on. Same norm, different rules, and the buyer's side checks them. That's the rabbit hole I fell into.
I'm Taylan (most people call me Tay). I'm german and study Computer Science, work as a working student in AI & integration, and was a software developer before that.
Alongside that, I co-founded Vera with a German tax advisor. The company is still being registered, so it's early days. Germany phases in mandatory e-invoices from 2027, and Vera picks the right format from the buyer's country, tests it against the official German validator and hands the bookings over to the tax advisor. There's also an API and an MCP server, so AI assistants can create and check invoices directly.
