Is your product actually showing up in ChatGPT recommendations? Here's how I'd measure it.

A question for SaaS founders: If someone asks ChatGPT, What s the best tool for [your category]? , does your product show up?

And more importantly, do you know how often it does?

Most founders I talk to are investing in SEO, publishing blogs, and building backlinks. But there's another discovery channel emerging that is much harder to measure: AI-generated recommendations.

Here's how I'd approach measuring it.

Week of 5 Oct: every integration is now on every plan

Bugs can now come into qarunbook from Slack, Teams, email, Sentry, PostHog, Zapier or any webhook, land on the right app and platform, and the place they came from hears back when the fix is confirmed. Every integration is on every plan, Free included.

Also new: per-platform fixes from GitHub, priorities and owners, moving an app to a client's workspace, OAuth sign-in from Claude and Cowork, and a guided start.

Why removing our onboarding tutorial helped users adopt the product faster.

We used to welcome every signup with a mandatory five-step popup tutorial that explained our interface. We thought we were being helpful by showing them where every button and setting was located.

We checked our analytics. Realized that eighty percent of new users were clicking the skip button as fast as they could. Worse the users who actually clicked through all five steps were no more likely to return the day.

People sign up for a tool to solve a problem not to read an instruction manual before they even start. We deleted the popup sequence entirely. Replaced it with a blank state that featured one clear call to action.

Of explaining everything upfront we added small contextual tooltips that only appeared when a user interacted with a specific feature, for the first time. Our activation rate increased by fifteen percent over the two weeks.
