Prior to his time in the UK, Charles worked for 6 years in Australia having led major instructions in the office, mixed use, shopping centre, development and strip retail sectors. The Feature I Removed That People Still Thank Me For

I deleted something last year. Took it out of the product entirely, removed the menu item, wrote a short note explaining why, and braced for the complaints.

They never came. What came instead was a slow trickle of messages from people saying the product finally felt clear.

Building in public is not what I thought it was

I started sharing what I was building because I liked the idea of it. Accountability, feedback, community. All the reasons people give.

What I did not expect was the way it changes the way you think. Every decision starts to include an imaginary audience. You find yourself choosing the version of your work that will make the best post instead of the one that is best for the product.
