Unpopular opinion: Leetcode interviews are filtering out the best startup engineers

The engineers who built the most impressive things I've seen never practiced Leetcode.

They learned by shipping.

They debugged at midnight. They read someone else's broken code and fixed it. They reverse-engineered systems nobody documented. They optimized something 40% faster because it was slow and that bothered them.

None of that shows up in a binary search question.

My ad CTR is 8.9% and I think that's bad news

Got my AdMob monthly report. Revenue up 42% from the previous month. Nice.

Then I looked at what drove it. Impressions were flat, down 0.1%. Clicks were up 116%.

So the revenue didn't come from more traffic. It came from people clicking a lot more. 9,361 impressions, 834 clicks. That's an 8.9% click-through rate.

Do you think AI should be regulated by governments, or should the market regulate it instead?

When I was reading TechCrunch today, I came across Jensen Huang s (NVIDIA CEO) view that AI safety should be handled by companies through engineering and market pressure, rather than through new regulation.

In my opinion, the power of consumers and the public is sometimes simply not strong enough to counterbalance large technology companies. That s why I believe governments sometimes need to step in and establish rules and regulations.
