Nook is live today, a quiet browser for the Mac

Hi everyone, I'm Arun. I launched Nook on Product Hunt today: https://www.producthunt.com/prod...

I built it because most articles I opened made me close a cookie banner and pause a video before I could read a line. Nook is a free Mac browser on Chromium. Reader mode takes you straight to the text. Ads and trackers are blocked inside the app, so there's nothing to install, and cookies and cache are cleared when you quit.

I'm answering comments on the launch page all day. What would you want a browser like this to do next?

You open a page to read one article and get a cookie banner, a video that starts on its own, and a prompt to sign in. Nook shows the article. Ads and trackers are blocked from the first page you open, reader mode keeps the text and pictures, and focus mode hides the tabs and toolbar. Cookies and cache are cleared when you quit. No account, no sync, no telemetry. macOS 13+, Apple silicon and Intel. Free.
