What makes YOU light up on Product Hunt? Let's chat!

Hey Product Hunt community!

I've been noticing a lot of great discussions here lately that genuinely grab my attention. From building side projects and roasting ideas to deep dives into launch strategies and even insights from the Product Hunt team themselves, this platform is buzzing.

It got me thinking: What topics truly make you pause and want to contribute? What discussions here feel like a real conversation, where you're eager to share your thoughts?

Is it the nitty-gritty of product development, the ins and outs of a successful launch, or the broader startup ecosystem?

ROI on Product Hunt

Builders, for those of you who have launched on Producthunt or actively engage in comment sections; What is the ROI here? As a new user and builder myself, how do you get the most value out of this platform?

For those who've launched: How many people are actually following through with feedback, beta testing, or staying in contact long term? Are those 10-20% of people worth it?
For those active in threads: How do you get value? How often does the scratch my back and I'll scratch yours exchange actually take place/help? Are you just here to scroll?
If you come here looking for an answer, how much time do you spend looking for it before you go to the next platform? Is reddit the alternative?
If you have any good strategies, let me know!! Would love to learn more.

How to write a Product Hunt comment during the launch day?

First things first:

Don't write the comment during the launch day, but before (prepare everything in advance)

Hi all!

Often times, the problem with journaling is that those past entries are never resurfaced, never leveraged.

How did you successfully open source your private repo? Any must-follow playbooks?

Hey Product Hunt fam!

I m preparing to open source a project I ve been working on privately for a while. It's now production-ready and has real-world impact, but I want to make sure I do it right, not just dump it into GitHub and hope for the best.

I m looking for your battle-tested frameworks and lessons learned:

  • What s one thing you wish you had done differently when making your repo public?

  • What made your repo get noticed?

  • What should I definitely include before launching?

  • Did you use templates, bots, GitHub Actions, or community rituals that helped?

  • How do you avoid just having a ghost town of a repo?

Best Clipboard Manager for Mac?

@Paste just launched their latest version, and tbh I'm considering switching over but I'm curious to hear what other people use?
I know @Raycast has a pretty powerful and integrated one that I'm considering using. I currently use @ Pasta which I love.
Do folks have any they recommend? What's the consensus?

Pocket is shutting down. Best read-it-later alternatives?

Mozilla recently announced that they're shutting down Pocket. I used to use Pocket a lot back in the day, but I don't find myself regularly saving articles that much now.

For those that are still using Pocket, what are you planning to switch over to?

What’s your face feeling? Scan it to get a playlist for your mood.

Hi Product Hunt fam!
We have a new feature in beta that scans your facial expressions in order to recommend a playlist for your mood and we'd love your help in testing it out.
Grab the beta here (iOS only) and feel free to leave your feedback on this thread, thanks!
