I’ve always had small file and formatting tasks to do, and while there are tons of browser tools out there, I never really knew what happened to my data after upload. So I started building my own privacy-focused toolkit for the tasks I run into regularly. Most tools run locally in the browser, so the goal is simple: useful everyday utilities without the data anxiety.

Tools by Lunar Turtle is a privacy first toolkit of fast browser utilities built for real work. Congrats on the launch! I’ve been using YouTube transcripts a lot more lately. How are you reliably pulling transcripts from videos? Do you rely on a specific tool, or did you build a custom solution that goes beyond standard YouTube captions?

I really like the idea of being able to display translations across the room. That adds a unique, shared experience to it. My first thought was how this differs from Mac’s built-in translation tool, but that feels more geared toward personal use. This seems to introduce a more in-person, collaborative dynamic that sounds genuinely convenient.

I did have a couple of questions though: How do you handle an influx of submissions? Is there a way to guarantee a product gets visibility, or is there some level of competition for placement on a specific...

Congrats on the launch! I'm all for anything and everything in regards to improving mental health. I’m curious though, how does this differ from creating a dedicated project in ChatGPT with a specific instruction sets? For example, setting it to be less agreeable, focus on identifying moments of crisis, and then just interacting through voice?

Stepping Into Building After a Corporate Path
Hi everyone! I’m Kyle. I’m a software engineer with over 7 years of experience across a wide range of work. I’ve built full stack systems, worked on backend and frontend, handled DevOps, worked with Linux and legacy software, and spent time in the ads space. I’ve known about Product Hunt for a long time and would browse it from time to time. I always wanted to build and launch something, but...
