AI is supposed to level the field for small teams. Does it actually?

Everyone keeps saying AI finally levels the field for small teams and solo founders. I m not so sure. The tools help, but there s only so much one or two people can do in a day, especially when you re also handling all the parts that aren t building. Bigger teams still out-post, out-ship, and out-distribute you. AI gave everyone the same boost, so I don t think the gap actually closed.

For other small teams: has AI really made it easier to keep up, or does it still feel the same?

When your dashboard doesn't have enough data, what do you show?

Something I changed my mind about while building a finance app for freelancers.

Say someone made $2,000 last month and $0 this month. The math says -100%. A big red number.

It's correct and it's still misleading. For a freelancer, an empty month often just means a payment is late. So in my app, when a month is at zero, that comparison doesn't show at all. Same with small samples: if there isn't enough history to say something, the screen says that instead of guessing.

The rule I ended up with:

What's the one part of your social content workflow you'd never hand to an AI agent?

Curious where everyone draws the line.

For us it used to be design. Agents could write captions and threads all day, but the moment a post needed a carousel or an image, it was back to a design tool, exporting, uploading, scheduling.
