Hey PH! 👋 I'm Rob—a dad and 30-year software engineer finally diving into a side project. My teenage son is getting into tabletop RPGs (Thanks Stranger Things!) and loves 3D printing. He wanted custom minis for his and his friends' characters, but most options were pricey or required complex tools. I'd been eager to try vibe coding with AI, so I built this MicroSaaS without writing a single...

3D Figurine GeneratorCustom Mini AI Generated Models for 3D Printing
As a 30-year software engineer, I created this after my teen wanted custom minis for tabletop RPGs. Options were expensive or hard, so I built an AI solution that's simple and affordable.
How it works:
• Describe your character (e.g., armored elf ranger with bow)
• AI generates the 3D model
• Download print-ready STL instantly
Credit-based (no subscriptions): 1 free generation on signup, then cheap one-time PayPal credits.
Great for tabletop gamers, and 3D printing fans. Try it once for free!

I went usage based on my AI-powered MicroSaaS 3D Figurine Generator, for most of the reasons people have already mentioned here. I found it pretty easy and had Claude Code do most of the heavy lifting. It was pretty easy to setup. I just used PayPal for processing since I had the account already laying around.
Is usage-based pricing becoming the norm for AI tools?

So my project is a lot more humble than most here. 3D Figurine Generator is a MicroSaaS I threw together for my 16 year old son. He likes 3D printing and is just getting into Dungeons and Dragons (Thanks Stranger Things!) so I thought it would be fun for him to be able to quickly and easily generate print ready STL model files of his and his friends characters based on some simple choices and a...
What are you building, and what does your stack look like?
