How does one decide on what to create next when three people have made three separate requests?

Since I develop alone, all feature requests come to me with equal weight. In the past week, I received three: dark mode, CSV export, and Slack integration.

So far, my way has been to develop whatever the nicest user wanted. Bad system, obviously. These days, I use frequency of the request stated in other words as my measure rather than its volume.

I have deliberately priced my product low, and now I wish that I hadn’t.

I priced myself low to reduce any friction for my initial customers, under the assumption that I would increase the price once I got traction. Now, after 18 months in business, I have 50 percent of my user base grandfathered into pricing that doesn't even pay for customer support.

How did you justify increasing prices for your customers without being perceived as doing a bait and switch?

The process of localisation disrupted my design before anything else.

I figured that the difficulty in internationalizing German would be the language itself. It hasn't been. My translation was just fine. My buttons... Not so much.

"Save" is four characters. "Speichern" is nine. The fixed width of my buttons shrinks it to "Speicher...", which looks like a broken word instead of a truncated one. That's true of six other button captions, including a navigation item whose length caused the entire header to drop 20 pixels lower on the page.
