About

I didn't write my first line of code until I was 26. Now I get sponsored by companies like Anthropic, Amazon and IBM to create coding videos as a tech content creator. My career path has been anything but linear - finance analyst to consultant to data scientist to full-time content creator. At each stop, I felt like I was starting over, but those diverse experiences became my superpower. My finance background taught me business fundamentals, consulting showed me how to solve complex problems, and data science gave me technical skills. When I combined all three and took the leap into content creation and developer advocacy, companies started paying attention.

Waitlists for 2026: Are they still valuable or just vanity figures?

A waitlist used to mean a demonstration of demand two years back. However, seeing products with 5,000 sign-ups and an initial activation rate of less than 4% shows how the list only meant curiosity and not intention.

With my most recent product, I tried to change things around. I never went with the usual form but rather had just one question during signup: What are you currently using? The responses helped me more than knowing the count ever would. Three respondents mentioned the same spreadsheet which ended up being our very first feature for imports.

Is it even worth creating a waitlist anymore or has it simply become an ego metric?

I was able to gather 600 waitlist emails for my previous project and was thrilled with the result. The launch day rolled around, and no one really opened the email. This made me feel pretty sad.

Those who showed up were the very people I reached out to via DMs and comments. Almost none of them signed up using the form alone.

Would you check your app reviews on a gloomy day?

Yesterday, the mistake I made was to check my app store reviews after having a tough morning. A one-star review concerning the color of a button stuck with me for several hours.

The thing that I realized later is that the most valuable feedback that I have received was in the form of a rude and short message. The phrase "Why can't I export" helped me more than an entire polite paragraph about the experience.
