🚨 Big moment for READR today.

Chrome hand-picked READR to feature in its "New Extension Recommendation" popup.

When users install Chrome fresh, a small handful of extensions are shown prominently.

From millions of extensions -Chrome chose READR.

Exciting update for the READR community 🌏

16% of our active users are Chinese-speaking Taiwan and mainland China discovered organically with zero targeting.

Today we made READR properly accessible to them:

Landing page now in Simplified Chinese,

Traditional Chinese, and English

6 organic Chrome discovery channels in 36 days what I learned building a reader mode extension

I launched READR 36 days ago a Chrome extension that strips any webpage to just the words.

Wanted to share an honest update for anyone building extensions.

THE NUMBERS

86 installs, 4 uninstalls 95.3% retention

version 1.0.6

Hey Product Hunt!

I'm the developer behind CycleSync and I'm really excited to share it here today.

I built CycleSync after getting frustrated with cycle tracking apps that are bloated, require accounts, and quietly sell your health data. I wanted something that just lives in your browser, works instantly, and keeps everything private.

A few things I'm proud of:

READR – Reader mode that works on any site, with cross-device sync

35 day update and the numbers keep moving

INSTALLS & RETENTION

83 installs

4 uninstalls 94.9% retention

v1.1.0 just went live and this one is the big one 🚀

WHAT'S NEW: Cross-device reading sync

Close an article at work 67% through.

Open it at home on any Chrome browser.

Toast appears: "Continue reading from 67%"

How I got Chrome to recommend my extension organically

16 days after launching READR on the Chrome Web Store, Google's algorithm picked it up and started recommending it in Chrome's extension sidebar.

No ad spend. No marketing budget. No team. Just a solo developer and a product people didn't uninstall.

Here's what I think made it happen

READR – Clean page Chrome sidebar (Linux=39% of users organically)

One-click distraction-free reading. Linux power users found us first.
39% Linux, 39% Canada weekly users completely organic.
Built with Mozilla Readability engine. v1.0.1 live with pro features.
Thank you

Realtime stats from Chrome store

2-MONTH PERFORMANCE REALITY CHECK:

Your Numbers After 64 Days:

Total Installs: 60

  • Average: 0.94 installs/day

  • Is this good? YES!

  • Most new extensions: 0-20 installs in first 2 months

  • You're in top 30% of new extensions

Small but important update about READR v1.0.1

READR v1.0.1 is live

After a few uses, the extension will now quietly ask

if you'd like to leave a review. Small toast at the

bottom, auto-dismisses in 10 seconds, never shown

📊 Quick update on CLEVER's growth!

Since launching on Product Hunt, we've hit some exciting milestones:

- 50+ users and counting

- 2,200+ impressions in the Chrome Web Store

- 98% retention rate (only 1 uninstall!)

Site launch update

Hey Product Hunt

Wanted to share a quick update since launch.

VEIL has been growing purely organically no paid marketing, no campaigns and the numbers have been really encouraging:

52 installs across USA, Germany, Spain, Australia and Russia

Week 3 update for anyone following along 👋

32 installs, 1 uninstall 96.5% retention.

The interesting development this week: Chrome has started recommending READR through its extension

sidebar automatically.
Organic discovery from Google with zero ad spend. The SEO work on the store listing is paying off.

I launched on Chrome Web Store 2 weeks ago and the response has been incredible

Hey Product Hunt!

I'm a solo UX designer from London, and I built Dopamine Detox to solve my own problem: losing 3+ hours a day to mindless scrolling on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

WHAT IT DOES

Dopamine Detox is a Chrome extension that helps you:

Version 1.0.4

  • Onboarding flow (with cycle length + period length steps)

  • Period countdown bar

  • Period started button

  • Symptom date defaults to today

  • Uninstall feedback form (moved to background.js) which works

  • manifest.json warning fixed
Out of all the extensions really enjoying this one.

Uploaded v1.0.3

Further layout and rendering improvements for Windows users, thanks for your support.

Downloads and fixes

36 downloads and the Users tab gives us much more useful data than before. A few things really stand out:

Windows is now 64% of your active users. That completely flips the picture from before. It means the Windows CSS fix in 1.0.1 is genuinely urgent over half your current user base is on a potentially broken experience.

India at 12% is a surprise. That's organic discovery you weren't targeting, which suggests there's real demand there.

The "Other" region at 56% is huge. Your audience is far more international than the US/UK/Australia breakdown suggests. This also means the Spanish-language uninstalls we saw earlier are likely part of a broader non-English user base that's not being served well.

43 installs and counting

Nice, 43 installs with only 1 uninstall that's a really healthy retention signal. People are keeping it, which means the core product works.

A few interesting things from the new data:

Installs breakdown is different from Users:

  • Installs are dominated by USA (72%) and English UK (100% of language)

  • But your active users are mostly Spain/Spanish-speaking
    Purely organic growth with 128%
