Why we built a "boring" utility in the age of AI

Hi everyone! While the tech world is racing to put AI into everything, my friend and I decided to go against the grain for her first independent launch. We believe that among all the complex algorithms, there s a huge need for simple, reliable, and private tools that just solve daily "boring" problems. For her, as a QA professional with 5+ years of experience, that problem was file conversion.

She was tired of macOS saving screen captures as .mov while Jira wouldn't play them, so she built Converleon to handle it offline, without any cloud uploads or data tracking. We even cut out a step to make it faster: You don t even need to "open" the app to use it. Just drag your files directly onto the app icon in your Dock, pick the format, and you're done. It handles everything from batch-converting HEIC photos to merging PDFs and extracting audio from video.

We actually hit "deploy" while traveling in Rome, turning a vacation into a launchpad for her indie maker journey. We re scheduled to go live on March 9th, but the forum is open! I d love to hear your thoughts. Let s chat!

Launching PromoMotions soon, would love honest feedback on our positioning

PromoMotions helps turn:

We re preparing for launch and trying to make the value proposition clearer.

From PR in Brazil to an offline Mac tool launched in Rome

Hi Product Hunt!

I ve spent years in PR, recently launching SaaS products in the Brazilian market. But I m here for a more personal reason.

My close friend recently left her corporate job to build her first independent app a simple offline file converter for Mac. No cloud, no data tracking, just a practical tool for daily use.

We were traveling in Rome when she finally hit "deploy" and sent it to the App Store. Seeing that transition from employee to independent maker was a highlight for me, and I want more people to know about what she built.

Every Simpsons prediction sourced, scored, fact-checked

Hi Product Hunt,
Viral Simpsons prediction videos have no sources. Half the clips are AI-generated fakes, and nobody built the actual database until now. Springfield Oracle tracks every prediction with verified episode references, real event citations, and honest fact-checks. The world so far has been relentless, and the Simpsons wrote all of it.
Springfield Oracle tells you which claims are real. And which aren't.
I built Springfield Oracle because I was tired of the same cycle. Something happens in the world. Someone posts a Simpsons clip. It goes viral. 10 million views. No episode reference. No source. Half the time it's a deepfake. The Simpsons has been on air for 35 years. It deserves better than that. So I built the database nobody had built. Every prediction is sourced to a real episode. Every claim is checked against a real event. Nothing marked Confirmed without receipts.
It's free. It's open source. Community submissions are open, if you find a prediction we missed, tell us about it, and it goes into the database. Would love your feedback on what to track next.
