About

About CS student at Guangdong University of Technology I work on backend systems, developer tools Learning Rust and cloud-native tools xtr-hub@qq.com Philosophy I enjoy exploring how software works beneath the surface, from application architecture to operating systems. Open source is where I learn, experiment, and share what I build. Keep building. Keep exploring.

I deleted 16,646 lines of AI-generated code and started over

A few months ago, I started building a terminal app with vibe coding.

I spent a week giving AI instructions, asking it to implement features, fix bugs, and keep going. The codebase grew quickly. There were thousands of lines of code, a UI, and what looked like a working application.

Except the terminal barely worked.

The first Electron version wouldn't even launch properly. I moved to Tauri, tried replacing xterm.js with a custom terminal renderer, and ended up dealing with ANSI parsing, screen buffers, Unicode widths, and Vim rendering bugs.

How much control should AI agents have over your terminal?

While building Vrykell, one question kept coming up: how much control should an AI agent actually have over your terminal?

Most AI coding tools operate in their own environment. But when I'm debugging a build failure on a remote server, I don't want to keep copying errors between my terminal and a chat window.

I want the agent to work with the terminal I'm already using, whether it's local or connected over SSH.

That's why Vrykell binds conversations to specific terminal sessions and preserves command output, working directories, git branches and exit codes.
