Case Study: how Product Hunt can improve AI visibility in 2026

Product Hunt is best known for its homepage, a daily leaderboard of the most creative and innovative products on the internet. Makers go all out to win launch day, because that visibility matters. Product Hunt also plays a significant role in how products appear in Google search results.

What surprised us was that AI assistants like ChatGPT were rarely citing Product Hunt in product recommendations.

How we decided to pivot after 4 years

After four long years of grinding, building, fundraising, and hiring, we decided to pivot. I wanted to write down my thought process and timeline because I wish I d seen more honest pivot stories when we were stuck. Not just we pivoted and everything was instantly great but the real version where we kept trying to make the original idea work for way too long because we already put so much into it.

I went through YC S20 (the first COVID batch) as a solo founder working on @Basedash. After YC, I did what you re supposed to do. I talked to users. I built product. I did founder-led sales. I hired a great team. It felt like progress because I was constantly busy and the product kept getting better.

Obsessing with MarTech on PH 🫣

Hey there, I'm Yulia, a T-shaped marketer lurking around for new tools to power my stack.

I must confess that new shiny tech objects obsess me, like, a lot, and PH is the best place to source them. I love the community vibe and meaningful convos that are so rare these days. Long-time lurker, I decided to make this coming out because I'm helping my friends to prep for their upcoming launch.

👋 Hey PH, I’m Ed

I m an AI engineer and part-time builder and I just joined ProductHunt today. I ve challenged myself to ship one new product every month in 2026, so figured I might as well introduce myself :) I mostly work on problems I experience myself as a developer, builder and person trying to do and be more .

Hey PHers 👋 I want to introduce myself to the community ahead of my launch

Hey everyone,
My name is Jonathan, and I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I've been a long time lurker of PH, and after 2 years of development I'm finally ready to launch my product.
Full disclosure, I'm not really sure how to get some exposure on this platform and this post is primarily to help with that. I saw this forum and figured it would be a good start.
I'm a software developer with 20+ years of experience, having worked for Fortune 100 companies, as well as co-founded a fintech startup in London (which failed after 6 or 7 odd years). I have since gone solo and have been working as a consultant while developing my first app, Bookie.
If you'd like to read more about me and my motivation you can read my article here.

TLDR, I love coding but became a bit disillusioned with the industry after a while. I understand the why's of investor demands and bottom lines, but somewhere along the way I feel like software has become less and less about the people who use it, and more about what can be extracted from them.
I want to build beautiful software that actually makes you want to use it, while solving the primary problem it sets out to. I believe in slow and organic growth, as well as honest software that actually listens to the people who use it, and grows with and for them.
I am really excited to launch my product in the coming days. If you're interested in checking it out before, you can find it here.

Left my job to build full time. Distribution hit harder than expected.

Hey Product Hunt,

I m Jos phine. About six months ago, I left my job at an AI research lab to focus on building full time. Since then I ve explored a few directions and learned pretty quickly what I enjoy and what I don t.

Lately I ve been focused on creative, consumer projects. I recently built a personalised comic product that turns people s stories into printed comics, and saw strong uptake around Christmas.

Built a tool that does multi-channel outreach for B2B Marketers

Hi Product Hunt Community!

I ve spent the last few years working with B2B founders, GTM teams, and sales leaders and one thing kept coming up:

"We run campaigns, get traffic, and build lists but real conversations and replies still feel unpredictable and manual."

Built an MCP for Google Search Console → AI workflows (intro + looking for feedback)

Hi everyone I m Soumyadeep
Co-Founder at Ekamoira. Long-time SEO / agency operator turned product builder.

After years of running SEO and content teams, we kept running into the same problem:
GSC data is critical, but painfully slow to analyze and hard to plug into modern AI workflows.

So we built our first product: a Google Search Console MCP (Model Context Protocol) that lets AI tools query, analyze, and reason over GSC data directly instead of exporting CSVs or building one-off scripts.

The idea is simple:

How would you improve Product Hunt forums? Name some things

I spend most of my time on these two things:
1) observing products on the main page and upvoting/commenting on them

2) talking with people within comments under my forums

The second one is the one where I notice some things that I lack and see possible improvements, namely:

Is building founders’ social media personas becoming a new business? How does it cost?

The day before yesterday, I was looking at the profiles of founders and team members of Lovable, as well as other companies, e.g. Hubspot, and they all look pretty good.

Lately, I ve been getting offers to help grow LinkedIn profiles from several founders, and I m starting to feel like at least LinkedIn is hype.

Advice for a first-time founder when a launch does not meet expectations

If your launch does not go as planned, do not judge it too quickly.
Avoid the instinct to immediately add more features or pivot the product.

Instead, pause and evaluate what already exists.
Check whether the core features are clearly communicated, fully polished, and genuinely solve the intended problem.
Often, the issue is not the idea, but the execution, positioning, or user experience.

Refine what you have. Improve clarity, usability, onboarding, and messaging.
Then relaunch with focus and confidence.

Many products fail not because they were wrong, but because they were unfinished, unclear, or rushed.

Experience I gained after quitting my job to focus on my startup

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Vasya
For over 6 years, I've been working as a product manager.
For the past 1.5 years, I've been building my own startup in the social trading space within web3, where I serve as CEO.
You've probably already guessed that I'm passionate about the idea of decentralized finance (DeFi), as well as SocialFi and blockchain technologies.
I have strong expertise in product management, web3 marketing, and UX/UI design.
In those 1.5 years, I've managed to:

  • assemble a team of developers,

  • participate in two hackathons,

  • build a product nobody needed,

  • spend all the money and raise investments from family and friends,

  • make a pivot,

  • go through an accelerator and secure three grants.
Right now, I'm preparing my startup for launch on January 10, and I'd love to exchange experiences with like-minded people as well as get your support on launch day!
    Happy New Year
