Otherworldly tech

‘Tis the season… to talk about death so we’re looking at 7 new products like Clocr that help you prepare for passing — yours and your loved ones.

But first... ⚡️ CAT NIPS ⚡️

  • NOWHERE metaverse lets you video chat with friends, fans, or colleagues in beautiful 3D worlds.
  • Sabil is for makers who need help to prevent account sharing (we see you, Netflix).
  • Snipd lets you listen to AI-generated audio summaries of podcasts.
  • Eureka is an app to support those suffering with Long Covid.
    Work with a unicorn founder

Hyper Season 3 applications are open!

The early-stage venture firm — and our sister company — matches you with unicorn founders for four weeks. These founders become your mentors and help you rethink growth and product. And each of these hosts launched on Product Hunt — who better to support you with launch and distribution?

Hyper announced its first host this week: Immad Akhund, founder of Mercury. Akhund scaled his banking solution for startups from 0-600+ employees, and to a valuation of $1.6B. More hosts will be announced week by week, so stay tuned.

    7 life and death products

Remember you must die. That’s the meaning behind the Latin phrase “momento mori” and today we’re looking at 7 new products that help us do just that.

    • Clockr helps you create a plan to alleviate difficulties your family may face after you're gone. Check out Bereev in this space too.
    • iDied is a tool to send passwords to your loved ones – or just say goodbye.
    • Life Clock shows your life, from birth to death, on a 24-hour clock.
    • Stoic Life Calendar is a Notion template that integrates weekly mortality reminders into your digital workspace.
    • Chaptr is a digital place for loved ones to gather and share memories after someone dies.
    • Storii lets you capture stories from loved ones through the phone (a low-tech way to involved those who aren’t technically savvy).
    • Happen lets you follow life as it happens by tracking time past since momentous events (or before they occur).

"Most people don’t like to talk about death yet the average person will experience 25-36 close, personal losses in their lifetime,” shared Rehan Choudhry, founder of Chaptr.

Perhaps you celebrate Día de Los Muertos and will soon be celebrating and honoring the lives of loved ones past. For others, it’s hard not to be reminded of death during the Halloween season with fake tombstones and ghosts running amuk amuk amuk, but spooky is the prevailing theme.

Hopefully these products will help you think of death, and its part in life, in a new light.
