Umm… so, like, do you ever, like, can’t find the right thing to like, say? Or like, you use a lot of unnecessary filler words to get your point across? This might be one of the reasons the makers behind Yoodli are claiming that “2 out of 3 people are afraid of public speaking.”

It’s also why they’re building Yoodli, an AI-powered speech coach that helps you improve your communication skills through private and judgment-free feedback on things like pacing, using filler words, and making eye contact.

Who is this for? With 300,000+ folks already using the app across the world, the makers highlight that their initial goal has been to help those who are often “talked over,” such as immigrants and introverts. That doesn’t mean others can’t benefit from using it. We could all use a little helping hand in how we communicate – be it for job interviews, work presentations, or everyday conversations.

How it works: You can add Yoodli to your Zoom calls or record a speech to see a real-time transcript and analytics on how often you say “um” and “uh,” how quickly you speak, and whether you’ve interrupted others. Once you’re feeling comfortable, you can share your speech with coaches to receive timestamped feedback. Yoodli also gives you access to courses built by public speaking experts like TEDx speakers.

We’ve seen other similar tools in the past, like Poised and BeneTalk, and it seems like the surge in AI developments is encouraging more makers to find practical use cases. We’re here for it.
