PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT

Low-code gamification for growth

Techstars-accelerated CustomerGlu’s 2020 MVP launched to help product managers build mobile gamification experiments from templates — and launch them on their own — without the need for app updates or code changes.

Today, the gamification-led growth platform is taking things to the next level with Glu AI: A tool for converting text prompts into gamified user engagement and retention campaigns for mobile apps.

Pivoting away from intrusive comms: Having been working to solve churn since 2016, the founding team behind what is now CustomerGlu had long observed that push notifications, WhatsApp, and text/SMS retention tactics weren’t working. So, they started studying the mechanics of gamification tactics baked into apps like Duolingo, Snapchat, Robinhood, and Google Pay.

If gamification is the answer… Why isn’t everybody doing it? “There are two problems,” explains maker Prateek Gupta. “First, they don’t know where to begin. Should they use a streak or a quest? Second, experimentation is messy. Each update to an existing program requires a team of engineers, designers, PMs, and a lot of time for one iteration.”

PMs, take the wheel: Glu AI can generate a production-grade gamification, quest, or ‘spin-the-wheel’ campaign template from just a text prompt — “all of this without copywriters and designers; returning the control back to PMs,” says Gupta.

You can play around with Glu AI today for free. Remember to leave a review to let the team know what you think.
