NASA got that drip

Spacesuits are cool. We all know that. But they can always get cooler.

Prada has partnered with NASA to build spacesuits for the next moon mission in 2025. Don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to the Paris Fashion Week reveal.

Wearables are getting an AI makeover

You might have seen a video of an interesting lapel pin doing the rounds on social media last week. It's from a company called Humane AI that dates back to 2017 when former Apple employees Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri came together to found it.

It's raised a number of rounds since its $30 million Series A back in 2020, with AI giants like Sam Altman getting in on the hype.

Finally, in June, the company revealed its flagship offering: an AI-powered wearable that attaches to your clothing.

"The AI Pin is a connected and intelligent clothing-based wearable device that uses a range of sensors to enable contextual and ambient compute interactions," the company said.

We're not sure exactly what that means, but we do know that AI and wearables can go together like PB&J, and it's only a matter of time before they hit the mainstream. Here are two recent launches that might set the stage:

arGPT is an iOS app for Brilliant Labs' Monocle AR glasses. It's an AI assistant that lives in your glasses that you can see and interact with using a simple voice command. You can access generative AI tools such as ChatGPT on the fly, and since it's open-source, you can even load it up with your own.

The new Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses come with the things you expect, such as improved audio and a 12MP camera, but where they shine is in having Meta AI, the company's own AI assistant, built right into the frame. Simply say, "Hey, Meta" and you will be greeted with an assistant that you can control with your voice.

Fashion and tech move fast, trends come and go, but we've got a hunch that the next big one might be…
