If you’re not familiar with Anthropic, it’s an AI company founded by former members of OpenAI. You might have come across Claude, the company’s flagship AI model, which, thanks to its latest update, can go toe-to-toe and even surpass GPT-4.

Now, Anthropic is going head-to-head with OpenAI’s ChatGPT again by launching Claude for iOS. The Claude app is able to access all three of Anthropic’s latest models: Claude Haiku, Sonnet, and the largest of the bunch, Opus. 

The new mobile app acts similarly to other chatbots. Users can ask it questions and instruct it to complete tasks like generating articles, blogs, and project documents. Alongside that, you can upload photos directly to the app for image analysis. 

Anthropic is admittedly a little late to the mobile app game, considering its closest rival, OpenAI, has had a ChatGPT app for both iOS and Android since mid-last year, while you can use Gemini in the Google app for Android. 

The Claude app is currently free for all users of Claude, including the free tier, pro, and the newly announced Team plan, which will roll out later this month.

According to the announcement, users on the team plan will get five times more chat queries than the pro plan, a much larger context window so Claude can analyze larger documents, and more administrative control.
